Class A Shares

Class A Special Shares were issued in 1999 and since then their annual dividends have outperformed market term deposit investment returns for five year products over the same term.

In 2004, the Board of Directors was in a position to redeem all Class A Shares. However, members had expressed an overwhelming interest to continue with these investments due to better than average returns in comparison with other investment vehicles on the market. As a result, the Board allowed the Class A Shares to continue providing our shareholders with a superior investment alternative.

Existing shareholders may redeem their shares on a first come first served basis. The total value of the share redemptions in any one year cannot exceed 10% of the total outstanding value at the end of the preceding fiscal year.

For those interested in purchasing Class A Special Shares, the credit union is currently not issuing any new Class A Special Shares, however transfers of shares between members are allowed. The credit union facilitates all such transfers. Please contact one of our Sales and Service Officers for information on how you can secure your place on our waiting list.
